Timothy Sawyer

Timothy J "Tim" Sawyer, 63, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on September 24, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1960, in Provo, Utah, to the late John Raymond Sawyer and Dorothy Beven Jasper Sawyer. Tim is survived by his wife, Suzanne Helquist Sawyer, and their children, Tiffany (Robert Boyd), David (Laura), Kevin, Lizi (Randy Davis), John (Anton), and Christopher, as well as his grandchildren, Taj Olsen, Trayu Olsen, Jack Davis, Abbiey Davis, Leela Davis, Madi Sawyer, Sophia Sawyer, Lyric Sawyer, Aaliyah Boyd, and Bailynn Boyd. He is also survived by his sisters, Susie and Angela, and his brothers, John (Candy), Barry (Tina), Aaron (Tracie), and many nieces and nephews.

Tim served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Peru. He served in several church callings including teacher, boy scout leader, and family history consultant. He enjoyed singing in several ward and stake choirs.

Tim proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1984 to 1988 and in the Army Reserve from 1988 to 1991. He was stationed at Clark AB, Philippines and Dyess AFB, Texas. He also served in Germany during Operation Desert Storm in 1990-91.

Tim was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz and BYU Football. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing chess and computer games.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Utah Veterans Cemetery located at 17111 S Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
