Vaun Grant Morrow

April 25, 1933 — July 5, 2016

Our friend, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, Vaun G. Morrow, passed away on July 5, 2016, of natural causes. He was born on April 25, 1933 to Arthur and Gladys Morrow in Riverton, Utah. Vaun married Sally Bown in October of 1954; they later divorced. He married Louise Thuesen (ne Stirling) April 29, 1971, and was later sealed to Louise in the St. George LDS Temple. Vaun graduated from Brigham Young University and The Pacific Coast School of Banking in Seattle, Wash. Vaun had a distinguished career in the financial industry, eventually retiring as an executive from Valley Bank and Trust as Senior Vice President and proudly served a term as chairman of the American Bankers Association. He was an honest and loyal man, who led by example over words. Vaun loved to fly. He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force after college. He loved the outdoors, especially his cabin at Fish Lake, and spent countless days hunting and fishing. He and Louise were fortunate to be able to travel the world, visiting all the major continents and many of the wonders of the world. Dad had a special friend named Bo, his Yorkshire Terrier of 16 years. Vaun is survived by his wife, Louise of Murray; brother, Gary (Shirrel) of Sandy; sister, Joan Robinson of Midvale; sons, Michael (Kristine) of Kaysville, and David (Mary) of Phoenix, Ariz; step-sons, Nye (Ruth) Thuesen, and Arik Thuesen, both of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Vaun was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray; and grandson Matthew. Dad will be remembered at a graveside family service and interment at Redwood Memorial Estates.
