Velda Leona Harman
“Grandma 2”
1924-2020
Velda was born October 1, 1924 to Malcolm and Hazel Orr in Magna, Utah. Velda passed away with loving memories of those she loved so dearly. Velda married Robert (Bob) Harman in Elko, Nevada on December 6, 1958. Velda loved her family and friends so much. From her days at Delton Bowling Lanes, ZCMI, Bridge, family gatherings and all those trips to Wendover. Velda also loved her freedom of spending Bob’s money. She never went without! From the House on the Hill, “Harman Heights” with the Gold Cadillac in the garage. To all her shoes, clothing and jewelry. She truly had it all, especially all of her bunnies! Velda loved to keep a great yard. From the thousands of pavers, to tons and tons of lava rocks, and she hated “those Damn leaves.” She truly was a Diamond in the ruff. Velda was also a huge sports fan. She especially loved her Utah Jazz and Domino (Donovan Mitchell)!!
Velda is survived by her daughter Peggy Salazar; grandchildren Guy (Robyn), Chad (Heidi), Holley, Gabe (Sarah); 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and several great nephews and nieces. Velda is preceded in death by her loving husband Bob; daughter Gwyn; son Blair; son-in-law Gary; 1 great-great-grandchild; mother; father; sisters Zenda (Jack Ridd), Ivona (Elwood Robinson); and many other family members.
A special thanks to Judy Byerly for many years of friendship and service, Beehive Homes of Riverton, and Canyons Hospice.
A Celebration of Life for Velda will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 and Graveside Services will be held at Valley View Cemetery on Monday, February 3, 2020.
In the words of Velda, “life is short, eat dessert first” and “I’ll meet you under the Apple Tree!”
