Verl B Newby, age 79, passed away October 24, 2014, at home, after a long struggle with Alzheimers. He was born July 19, 1935 in Monroe, Utah to Leonard S. and Ina Christina Newby. He married Kaye Farnsworth July 11, 1959 in Reno, Nevada and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was active in the LDS Church having served in many callings including a mission with his wife in the Philippines, and as a worker in the Jordan River Temple. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. He retired from Taylorsville Bennion Improvement District. Verl is survived by his wife, Kaye; children, Carrie (Duane), David (Jackie), Kevin (Amber) and Bethany; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken and Floyd; and sister, Lola. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig; granddaughter, Camryn; brothers, Lacoy, Merrill and Sherrill. A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014, 10:00-11:15 a.m. at the LDS Church on 2030 Chateau Avenue (5225 S.), Taylorsville, UT where funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
