Viola Mae Angel Lane

BUNNY ANGEL LANE 1931 ~ 2011 Viola Bunny Lane, born to Emma and Clarence Angel on Easter day April 5, 1931, age 80. Her older brother said that she cuddled like a bunny and the name remained with her through her life. A second generation Salvationist raised in California, as a young girl was intent on being a medical missionary. While working at The Salvation Army Summer Camp for Mothers and Children in Redondo Beach, California, met and fell in love with her husband to be, Bill Lane. However, she was called by God to serve in The Salvation Army with her husband. Entering the Training College for Salvation Army Officers in San Francisco. Becoming an Officer and Minister of the Gospel for forty years. She is survived by her husband Bill, of sixty years, and her three children, Becky Lane, Mark Lane and Kevin Lane, all of Salt Lake Valley. Believing that her desires of being a missionary had been laid aside, never realizing that God had a plan for her life that would mean serving among the Rocky Boy and Black Foot Indians of Northern Montana. Ministering to women of the Washington State Penitentiary of Walla Walla, WA. serving the lovely Hawaiians of Maui and Kauai, also hundreds of seniors of Riverside, CA. and the migrants of Merced, CA. the Gambler families of Las Vegas and the Hispanics of Albuquerque, NM. Reaching out to the Mormons of Salt Lake City, then to complete her active service, again serving the seniors of the greater four state area of the Intermountain Division of The Salvation Army. She was a past President of Church Women United of Salt Lake City. For forty years Bunny Lane was serving her calling as a home missionary to thousands of children and adults who she called her own. All her extended family. Bunny Lane was truly one of God s Precious Angels desiring only to serve God with a life of devotion to God s love and His people. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Church, 438 South 900 West. A viewing will be held 5:30-6:45 prior to the funeral services.
