Virginia Irene Archibald

"Billie" Virginia Irene Archibald passed peacefully on February 15, 2018. She was affectionately nicknamed and known by her family and friends as Billie. Born November 28, 1932 to William Drew Wood Jr. and Lucille Irene Wood in Ogden, Utah, where she was raised. Billie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where devotion to family and friends were a constant. She married Dale Nielson Putnam Sr. On December 28, 1950 who precedes her in death. Billie later married Thomas Noel Archibald on January 15, 1998 in the Jordan River Temple. They served missions together in Cebu, Philippines, CES at Southern Virginia University and twice on Temple Square. Billie is survived by her husband, Thomas Noel Archibald; children Marc Archibald, Brent Archibald, Joy Meirzwinski, Dale Putnam Jr., Greg Putnam, Barry Putnam, Glen Putnam and Melanie Tyson; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19th, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 945 West 1100 North, North Salt Lake, where viewings will be held Sunday, Feb. 18th, from 6-8:00 p.m. and again Monday prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
