Virginia Lee Spencer Peery Johnson passed away on January 3. 2019. She was born to John Henry and Martha Ellen Pritchett Spencer on October 5, 1927.
Mom lived and attended school in Payson and was a waitress at Bobs Café where she met daddy, Glen Alden Peery. They married on September 21, 1946 and had three beautiful little girls together. Daddy was killed in an auto accident on October 7, 1951, leaving mom to raise her three daughters alone for seven years. She then married Ronald L. Johnson on December 2, 1957 and had two beautiful children, Randy Johnson and Cinthia Johnson; later divorced.
Mom worked many jobs including telephone operator back in the days where operators actually answered your call and connected you to the person you were calling. Her last job was secretary for Salt Lake City Corporation where she retired. Mom loved to garden; pulling weeds and taking care of her yard was her favorite pass time. She was a very generous and kind woman.
Mom is survived by her children Glenda (J.R. Stanfield), Carole (Greg Cazier), Pam (Don Lemke) and Cindy (Mike Miller); 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers; sisters; and son Randy on November 8, 1963.
