Virginia May Pearce Scriber (Gigi), age 93, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on July 20, 2017. She lived a full life with humility and grace. Virginia was the daughter of Christopher Charles Pearce and Cora Almeda Perry. She was born February 24, 1924 in Ionia, Michigan. Her parents taught her the value of honesty, hard work and that family came first. Virginia met her husband, Harry Scriber on a blind date. They were married May 24, 1951 and had seven children. Even though their family was blended, they considered each of the children their own. Harry was a career navy man and the family lived in many places. Due to his military service, Harry was often away from home. Virginia kept the family together while he was away. Even though their marriage was filled with many separations and trials, it endured 57 years with love, service and wonderful memories. Virginia became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 4, 1978 and was an active member. She was sealed to Harry for time and all eternity on July 17, 2009 in the Jordan River Temple. She was close to her Heavenly Father. She loved being with her family. She loved to talk and was an avid reader. In their later years, Virginia and Harry loved taking drives together, delivering meals, and volunteering at the library. Virginia is survived by her children Kirk (Jennie), Rae (David), Chris (Tina), Kerry, Terri Lynn (Rick) and Scott (Sandy); 15 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry, son Lee, parents, brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Martiny Township Cemetery in Michigan for family and friends.
