January 24, 1930 — November 11, 2013

Virginia Katherine Smith Timothy 1930 ~ 2013 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, peacefully passed away at her home November 11, 2013. During the days prior to her passing Mom was visited by many family members and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, brother Don; and her eternal husband Floyd. Gin was born January 24, 1930 to Len and Golda Smith in Bingham Canyon, Utah where she lived until she met the love of her life, Floyd Timothy. They were married in September 1948, in Bingham, Utah and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple September, 1974. They have a daughter, Kathy (Brad) Higley; 5 sons Randy (Kris), Gary, Brent (Jenny), Troy (Shelley) and Tracy (Karen); 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. Mom was very involved in raising her children and freely donated her time and energy to their activities. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. Mom mainly enjoyed the Primary, serving for more than 20 years; 13 years in the presidency and president for over 11 years. Mom also served in the Young Women's organization, Relief Society and Cub Scouts. She coordinated numerous ward spaghetti dinners raising funds for Scouts. Later in life Mom and Dad became temple workers and ward missionaries. She willingly supported Dad in all his church callings. Gin was also active outside the church as room mother for her children, volunteer at South Kearns Elementary PTA (president for over 12 years), March of Dimes coordinator and Regional Cancer representative. Mom and Dad were very social and enjoyed being around people, especially in helping others. She enjoyed the visits from her grand and great-grandchildren as well as making hats and painting ceramics for them. She will truly be missed by her family, friends and all who came in contact with her. Special thanks to the staff of Hunter Hollow, Rocky Mountain Hospice, Kearns 1st Ward and to the family members that lovingly cared for Mom during this difficult time.
