Vivian Maurine Ray Forman

July 28, 1931 — July 24, 2018

Our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Vivian Maurine Ray Forman, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at home, after a short illness surrounded by her family. Maurine was born on July 28, 1931 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. She was raised in Copperton where she enjoyed a small town upraising, surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. She and her sister enjoyed sharing stories, of playing on the sidewalks of Copperton with their dolls and going to the park (where Maurine's 80th birthday celebration was held!). She attended Bingham High School, graduating in 1949, and continued to meet with "The Gang" for lunch once a month until very recently. On June 1, 1950, Maurine married her husband Ernest Calvin Forman, in Herriman,Utah. They lived most of their married life (44 years) in Herriman and West Jordan, Utah, where they raised their 5 children. Maurine was truly a great care giver, she never knew a stranger and never turned away a person that needed help. She took in grandchildren that needed a place to land; children that needed assistance and numerous other friends. She always had a smile and a positive thought to share. Maurine was very involved in the West Jordan Senior Citizen's Center. She belonged to the West Jordan Senior Citizen Harmonica Band for years, first playing the harmonica and moving to the drums later. She also helped publish the monthly newsletter for the Senior citizen's center, and enjoyed taking many bus trips with people from the center, volunteering as a manager for years to organize activities and trips. Throughout Maurine's life she was very social and connected with people. She loved any chance to get together with her friends, including playing games, lunches and simply visiting. Family both present and past were also very important to Maurine and she kept contact of all relatives and attended the annual reunions. Being around and involved with people gave her pleasure and she was always looking for ways to connect with people. Maurine loved to paint, write stories and poetry and many have received her hand made cards with pieces of original poetry enclosed for a birthday, anniversary or just because. This gave her and everyone that received them great pleasure. Even though Maurine has passed, her love of people and painting will live on with these cards and poetry. Maurine is survived by 4 of her children, Bill (Bea), Dennis (Jackie), Bob (Nancy), Lynette; brother Wayne (Patty) Ray; sister Beverly (Vic deceased) Kennedy; sister-in-law Elaine Ray; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Jay; and brother Ken. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 27th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday July 28th (Maurine's Birthday) 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan Oaks Stake Center, 8117 Leslie Drive, West Jordan. Interment, Herriman City Cemetery. Place of Birth:Bingham Canyon, UtahPlace of Death:West Jordan, Utah
