Wallace Dean Cannon, 85, was reunited with his beloved wife on Mother's Day, May 11, 2014. Born August 24, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward L. and Florence Merle Ince Cannon. He was raised in Magna and graduated from Cyprus High School, class of 1946. Married LaVee Bawden April 6, 1947 in Elko, Nevada; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Worked with his father for 21 years as a carpenter in construction and became a self-employed general contractor for 21 years, specializing in bank related construction. Member of the Granger and Hunter Lions Clubs for 26 years. Was an Honorary Colonel in the West Valley Police Department. Served in three bishoprics, including Bishop of the West Valley 2nd Ward. Member of the West Valley Stake High Council. Served two Service Missions at Welfare Square. Temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for 11 years. Recently fulfilled a life-long dream of singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Enjoyed family picnics and barbecues in the park, and boating in his senior years. His family was his whole life, his reason for living, and he's justifiably proud of all of them. We will miss his hugs! Preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaVee; daughter Gloria Cannon; son-in-law Steve Harton. Survived by children: Kathy (Rulon) Swensen, Connie Harton, Deanne (Guy) Knudsen, Jodi (Roger) Livingston; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
