Wanda "Joan" Carlile, 72, passed away August 19, 2018 unexpectedly at the U of U Hospital, from a ruptured aorta. She was born July 16, 1946 in Heber City, Utah to Peter and Wanda Ivie. She attended Tabiona High School and then went on to Beauty School to earn her Beautician license. This was a skill set she used often serving her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor. She was unassuming in her strengths, which were many. She was a spiritual giant who spent her life serving others, especially meeting the needs of the seniors in her neighborhood. Any and every need, from getting them to their Sunday meetings, weekly appointments to making sure their hair was cut and curled. She was the first to offer help, always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved serving in and attending the temple regularly. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities in her local ward. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She spent her mortal journey always trying to better herself. She was constantly working on things she thought needed improving. We have no doubt that she was welcomed home in the arms of a loving Heavenly Father with the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, well done." She is survived by children: Melanie (Carl) Silcox, Hooper, UT, Debbie Carlile, Tooele, UT, Brandon (Natalie) Carlile, West Valley, UT, Lisa (Keith) Michaelis, Riverton, UT; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Preston and Amanda Silcox, Conner, Britton, Ryann and Jordynn Carlile, Tyler, Allison, Olivia and Emily Michaelis; siblings: Alfreda, Connie and Larry (Kathy); sister-in-law, Viola. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, J.C.; parents Peter and Wanda Ivie; and brothers Darreld and Randy Ivie.
