Wanda Marie Prows 1926 ~ 2011 When I am an Old Woman, I shall wear purple Wanda Marie Prows, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died December 8, 2011. She died as she wished, peacefully at home, surrounded by her children: Rodney (Idonna) Prows, Darrell (Eva) Prows, Edward/Ted Prows, Wendy (Brent) Scott, DeAnn Prows, Jennifer Edgar, Roger Prows, Annette (Rob) Rust, Connie Prows, Charles (Daphne) Prows, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While raising 11 children, she was actively in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and was instrumental in establishing the first school for mentally challenged children in Utah. Mom received state-wide recognition for her volunteer contributions to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Mom s life revolved around children, not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but all children. She loved spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and in her last days enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the birds. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Budd Prows, and one son, Bartley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where family and friends may visit from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
