Wesley Dwight Jarvis, age 87, joyfully kicked the bucket on March 26, 2014 and happily reunited with his sweetheart Daphene. He was born on November 9, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Smith and Mildred Boyer Jarvis. Dad moved several times in his early years but his family settled in Mesa, Arizona near the temple where he had countless opportunities to do baptisms for the dead. He graduated from Mesa Union High School where he met the love of his life. On Sunday, June 2, 1946 he married his beautiful bride, Daphene Bailey, in the Mesa AZ Temple. They were blessed with 5 daughters and 2 sons. They moved many times throughout their lives making friends and influencing people wherever they were. Dad was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Christ like example of service, love and integrity. He served as a Bishop, counselor in two Bishoprics, MTC Branch Presidency, and many other callings; he especially enjoyed his callings where he had the opportunity to mentor and influence the youth. He was called to serve a mission with his eternal companion at Adam-ondi-Ahman and treasured the time serving together as well as caring for the sacred land. He served the community in many capacities and enjoyed serving his fellowmen. He was a welder, mechanic, engineer, handyman, dairyman and a farmer. He loved the earth and God's creations and enjoyed planting, nurturing and harvesting. Dad's favorite joy in life was spending time with his family. He often reminded us that each of our lives is filled with learning experiences and the learning experiences never end. The things we cherish most about our Dad are his classic sayings, his mickey mouse smile and his ability to liken any story or situation back to the scriptures and gospel teachings. His unfailing love and devotion to our Mother will forever be dear to our hearts. He is survived by his daughters Lynda (Lauritz) Smith, Renae (Bart) Mangum, Sheri Jarvis, Shana Butz;, and his son Glenn (Lori) Jarvis; 22 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; brothers Boyer (Pat), Kenneth (Rosie), Jarrett (Pat), John (Pat), George (Jan), Jess (Pat), sister SusAnn; and brother-in-law, Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Daphene; daughter Karen; son Layne; and granddaughters Megan and Brittney. A special thanks to our sisters Sheri and Shana and our nurses Annika and Monica who served both our parents with love and compassion. Place of Birth:Ogden, UtahPlace of Death:Orem, Utah
