Whitney H. Jensen 1919-2013 Whitney Hewitt Jensen, 94, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home in Bozeman, MT. He was born February 4, 1919 in Austin, UT to Alma Moroni Jensen and Phebe Harding Jensen. He was the youngest of five boys. The family moved to Richfield where he attended school. After graduation from high school, Whitney attended Brigham Young University, Provo, UT and later graduated from The College of Mortuary Science in San Francisco, California. He married Helen Seegmiller of St. George, UT, on October 25, 1939 in the St. George Temple. They began their life together in Salt Lake City, UT where he worked at the Larkin Mortuary until he joined the Navy and served at Mare Island Hospital, across the bay from San Francisco. In 1947 the family moved to Cedar City, UT where Whitney co-owned and operated the Jensen Mortuary. While living in Cedar City, he also provided ambulance services and was active in the Red Cross, Lions Club, Jaycee s, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Manager of the local television station. The family relocated to Bountiful, UT in 1961 where Whitney worked for Hercules (missile building plant) in Clearfield, UT. During his 20+ years at Hercules, he also provided limousine service for many famous entertainers performing in the Salt Lake area. After retirement, he partnered with son, Wayne, and formed Toraco Tours which provided sightseeing opportunities throughout the state of Utah and other locations of interest. The office of Toraco Tours was located in St. George, UT. In 1996, Whit and Helen relocated to Bozeman, MT. Whitney was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; grandson, Bradley H. Halterman; and brothers Donald, Evan, Harding and Gilman. He is survived by his daughters Judy L. (Dr. Roger H.) Halterman, Janet L. (Dr. James C.) Simmons, and Jayne L. (Jim A. Perlinski) Rasmussen of Bozeman, MT; and his son Wayne W. Jensen of Salt Lake City (fianc Hobbies:Being with family and friendsOccupation:Funeral Home Owner
