Lynn Throckmorton, 84, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on January 7, 2017. He wasborn July 27, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Willard and Dora James Throckmorton. He graduated from Granite High School. He was drafted into the US Army and served during the Korean War. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the Northern California mission. He attended LDS Business College where he served as Student Body President and earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Management. He met his wife, Marilyn Christiansen at LDS Business College. They were married on Nov 21, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five wonderful children, two boys and three girls. He worked as Accounting Manager for ASARCO for most of his business career. Lynn was an avid gardener and shared his produce with his family, friends and neighbors. He grew beautiful flowers and loved to give tours of his yard. Traveling was his favorite passion and he traveled all over the world. He especially loved going on cruises and often took his children and grandchildren with him. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many church callings and leadership roles. He was a gifted teacher and a positive influence on the lives of many people. He greatly enjoyed his years of service as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Lynn is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Sheryl (Keith) Marchant, Gary (Donna) Throckmorton, Sandra Moulton, Linda (Jason) Johnson and Brad (Ann) Throckmorton; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother George Throckmorton; and two sisters, Dorene (Duane) Larsen and Mary Alice Hansen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, 11:00 am, at the Jordan North 2nd Ward Chapel, 4270 South Falcon Street, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah and at the chapel on Falcon Street on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:40 am.
