William A. Shelton Bill Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, William Albert Shelton, passed away July 9th 2012, at home in Murray surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born December 24th 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Speed and Enid Shelton. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968. He married DeeAnna Rushton May 22nd 1976 which was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Together they had 3 children, Aaron (Rachel), Brooks, and Colby (Autumn). Bill loved life and accomplished much in his short 62 years. He graduated with both a Bachelor s and Master s degree and served over 28 years with the Salt Lake City Police Department. He later became a co-founder of Statewide Auction Company. He was active in the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. In our home we didn t need Google - we had Dad. He had extensive knowledge and would converse at length on any subject. He loved to talk about his faith, politics, history, art, tv, movies, food, fast cars, and sports, any sport, especially BYU. He had a great gift of gab. Among many of his talents, his leadership, wisdom, whit, and charm will be deeply missed. He loved his family and friends dearly. He loved spending time with them and making trips to his St. George home with Dee. We will miss him dearly but find comfort in knowing he ll be watching over us and that families are forever. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is also survived by his loving sister Kay (Ken) Lewis; 4 adorable grandchildren, Riley, Olivia, Taylor, and Oliver; Dee s family; and many nieces and nephews.
