William Carrillo

April 26, 1931 — December 26, 2013

William "Willie" Carrillo April 26, 1931 - December 26, 2013 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend left this earth December 26, 2013. Willie was born April 26, 1931 in La Plata, New Mexico to Martin and Mariquita Casaus Carrillo. He married his sweetheart Ermie Varoz on August 15, 1953 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salt Lake City. Together they raised 10 children in Kearns. Willie served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-54 during the Korean War. Dad was a skilled craftsman and worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron for over 34 years, at times with two of his sons and three of his brothers. He was honored in 1977 by Governor Scott Matheson as Craftsman of the Year. Dad was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church and was a devoted husband and family man. Through his example he taught us the value of hard work and faith. He loved time spent with his family and would always miss the "one" who wasn't there when the family gathered. His family was the center of his universe! He always had a twinkle in his eye when Mom or any of his children or grandchildren walked in the room. Dad loved to camp, fish, coach, teach his children new things, and play with his grandchildren. He taught us to be respectful and help out others. Dad was loved and respected in his community and touched many lives. Willie is survived by his wife of 60 years, and the legacy they made together include ten children, Trudy (John) Kirby, Napa, California, Fedi (Michael) Farnsworth, Joey Carrillo, Shonnie (Dave) Job, Tom (Julie) Carrillo, Joni (Tal) Harry, Lori (Roger) Burdette, Jim (Tammy) Carrillo, Kenny (Steffanie) Carrillo, Robert (Kristi) Carrillo, 36 Grandchildren, 26 Great-grandchildren with two on the way. Brothers and sisters, Ben (Angie), Olojia (Lee) Gallegos, Ernie (Angel), Rita Hall, Levi (Pat), John (Ida). Preceded in death by parents, brother Abel, sisters Olivama DeHoyas, Marcy Morales, Sabel Dentler, and special granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Job. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to those at Harmony Healthcare including Max, Rudy, Fabrizio, and Christi, as well as those at Legacy Care Center in Taylorsville who were so kind and gentle with our dad and the entire family.
