William Dean Lewis was born in Provo, Utah on February 18, 1939 to Dean C. And Rose Conder Lewis. He passed away on December 25, 2013 with his family by his side. Bill, as all his friends called him, was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended his school years in Salt Lake City, living in the Sugarhouse/Hyland Park area. He was a graduate of I.C.S. He enlisted in the Utah National Guard on his 17th birthday. He met the love of his life, Georgianna (Jana) Miller at a laundromat in Salt Lake. They were married 1 year later on October 10, 1957. Bill was also an awesome trumpet player, performing with Promised Valley Playhouse 1964-1965. He worked at Eimco Foundry for 25 years as a molder and later a maintenance mechanic until they closed in 1982. He then went to work for Facet Automotive Filter Company as a maintenance mechanic and then supervisor before retiring in the spring of 1999. He and his love moved to Yuma, AZ. and then to St. George, UT. in 2002 where they remain today. Survived by his wife of 56 years (Jana) and children: Jolene Louise, Brenda Jean (Steve) Marshall, George Dean (Cathy) Lewis, Robert Arthur (Theresa) Lewis, Roberta Ann (Chris) Jessup. They are blessed with 37 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard C. And daughter Billie Lee. The family wishes to thank Alliance Hospice of St. George and especially to Eric, Brittany and Lori for their care, devotion and support these past 18 months. A special thanks to Jacob for helping grandma this past month. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held Monday, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Monday 12:00-12:45 p.m. also at McDougal Funeral Home. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
