William H Winrow (Bill) Bill was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, October 6, 1923 to Rufus and Anna Amalie Jensen Winrow, and passed away peacefully on October 12, 2013, after he fell at home resulting in a traumatic brain injury. On October 21, 1945, he married the love of his life, Betty Jean McPherron in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they have been happily married for 68 years.On October 6th , 2013 Bill celebrated his 90th birthday with a surprise party with many family members and friends attending. He was a healthy 90 year old man looking and acting many years younger.After graduating from West High School, Bill proudly joined the Merchant Marines as a Merchant Seaman during WWII. After being discharged from the service he drove truck for Garrett Freightline for 36 years. He was a member of Teamsters Union 222 and after retiring he continued to enjoy his relationships with former co-workers at monthly luncheons. Bill spent winters with Betty in Yuma where they made many lifelong friends. He was an independent man who enjoyed tending to his beautiful loving wife. He enjoyed spending time with his family and they will miss him beyond measure. Bill is survived by his sweetheart and children Debbie (Jay) Mark, Shauna Winrow, and Stan Winrow. Preceded in death by son Joe Winrow. He loved his grandchildren Jeramey, Chelsea, Ciel, Chaylee, Chaston, Zach and Alex. He had 11 great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Elmer (Dot) Winrow, Arlo Winrow, Nona Rae (Chuck) Potter, and Emily Hunt. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Henrietta, Dorothy, Eleanor, Helen and Jim Bill should be remembered as the best husband, father, and grandfather in the whole world; and a friend to all. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 16th, at the Granger 6th Ward, 3274 S Hillsdale Dr (2855 West), with a viewing from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. There will also be a visitation with the family on Tuesday, October 15th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
