William Hugh Ormond

William Hugh Ormond passed away on June 6, 2021. Bill was born May 6, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Mildred Myrtle Selves and William Thomas Ormond. He married the love of his life, Sharon Marie Brown, on November 27, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother Terrence; his sisters Patricia Ann, Katherine Marie, and an unnamed sister; and his wife Sharon. He is survived by his children David (Holly) Ormond and Ann-Marie Ormond; his sister-in-law Diana; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill loved to do crafts. He was a talented cross-stitcher with many beautiful pictures that he stitched. He loved to garden and saved many plants from certain death. He was an avid scouter and served in many scouting positions throughout his life. He was an eagle scout and a recipient of the silver beaver. He worked at different scout camps when he was younger. He was an avid genealogist who happily spent his time helping others find their family members. He loved history and his career reflected that. He worked at the Church History Museum, Wheeler Farm, and This is the Place State Park prior to his retirement in 1998. He often went to Nevada to help the Quilt Guilds there date and appraise quilts for people. Bill was a talented musician. He played the cello, piano, and organ and could always be counted on to accompany people if needed. He loved all animals and had many pets throughout his life.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Logan, Utah for the care and compassion they showed our father in the last few months.

Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery on June 12, 2021. A luncheon will follow at the Erda Ward, 323 E. Erda Way, Erda, Utah 84074.
