Yonn Dy

At 12:36am, Thursday, October 18, 2018, Yonn Dy, loving mother of 10 children, passed away peacefully at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her loving family in West Jordan, UT. Yonn was born to Mak Thong (Mother) and Dy So (Father) on February 5, 1932 in Battambang Province, Kingdom of Cambodia. She was a homemaker, and a farmer. She was married to Ry Mouth (predeceased.) In the year 1986, Yonn and most of her children, whom were all refugees of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, immigrated to the United States in hopes of creating a more prosperous life and a better future for the next generation. Yonn loved to cook. She also enjoyed sewing and was an avid traveler. With her children and relatives residing in all parts of the world, she has traveled to Australia, Canada, California, New York, Utah and Cambodia. Yonn was predeceased by her parents Mak & Dy; and her 2 beloved children Hul & Chong So (sons). Yonn's unconditional love and strength will survive through her 8 children: Meoung So (son), Sngeam So (daughter), Snguon So (daughter), Sngam So (daughter), Hap So (son), Sambo So (daughter), Chea So (son), Sokkea So (daughter), as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Forever in our hearts. We love you. A viewing will be held Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, October 27th from 1:00 3:00 p.m. All services held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
