Anina Marie Andersen Haggerty

September 7, 1927 — November 11, 2019

Anina Marie Andersen Haggerty was born on September 7, 1927 to Ernest and Elna Andersen in Monroe, Utah.  She was raised in Monroe with her five brothers and sisters—Neil, Dean, Elden, Elaine and Elsie.  They remained close their entire lives along with their spouses Murial, Beth, Beverly, Joe and Murray.

Anina married Morris James Haggerty in June 1956.  They raised four children—Stephen, Morris O, Frank and Elna, all who remain close with their spouses: Antinette, Kathy, Deborah and Bret.  Anina and Morris moved to Murray, Utah in 1970. Mom was active in many church callings, Cub Scouts and 4H. Many hours were spent at sporting events watching and helping her kids from quarter midget racing and skiing, to baseball where she kept score, and football games in the snow.

Anina loved to travel with her husband and family including to Hawaii with Morris, then back to Hawaii many years later with Morris O and Frank. Many shorter road trips were spent voluntarily in the back seat reading to grandkids. She particularly loved traveling to many of the national parks throughout the country with family and friends, enjoying the beauty in everything she saw.

Anina was the most generous and accepting person on earth, welcoming anyone into her home at any time.  By default she gained many extra children, all of who loved her and the meals she magically produced in a warm and happy kitchen.  She was a talented seamstress all her life who could make and alter anything. She loved to paint and played the piano by ear.  She even played piano right through this last year at the assisted living center without sheet music, entertaining family, residents and staff alike. Mom’s dream was to have a pink 57 T-bird but had to settle for a red Falcon in the end, bought by dad who passed in 1986. She will be missed dearly.

Mom is survived by her four children and their spouses and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
