Benny L. Adams

Benny L. Adams (9/12/1948 ~ 10/26/2020), our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, has posted his last Facebook post. Born on September 12, 1948 to Benjamin Leo and Rebecca Barger Adams in Provo, Utah.

He grew up in Kearns with his brother Jim and sister Karen. As a young boy, Ben would spend his summers at his aunt & uncle’s ranch in Torrey, Utah, where he and his cousin would see just how much trouble they could find. He married Ellen Thompson on February 19, 1966, while they were still in high school.

He graduated from Granger High School, then went to Salt Lake Trade Tech for a year, and was hired at Cummins Intermountain, where he worked for 46 years to the day. He was a Field Service Mechanic, and he spent the last 18 years of his career taking care of the school buses all over the state of Utah. He was known for his work ethic, and he took great pride in what he did. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the jokester- just ask some of his family or co-workers! He loved spending time with Ellen and their children at their cabin in the mountains, singing and playing guitar around the campfire.

Ben is survived by his wife Ellen; their 3 wonderful daughters, Shari (Phil) Driscoll, Shauna (Darren) Brinkley, and Christie (Sean) Cunningham; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother; father; brother; and sister.  

A viewing will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 1:00-3:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah. A private family funeral will be held in his honor. The funeral will be streamed Monday, November 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at:  https://vimeo.com/473609582
