Betty Carolyn Wallace Sudweeks

August 22, 1931 — April 9, 2021

In the early morning of April 9, 2021, a most beautiful and beloved lady, Betty C. Sudweeks, passed away in the comfort of her home in Taylorsville, Utah with loved ones by her side. She was 4 months shy of her 90th birthday.

Betty was born August 22, 1931 in Murray, Utah, the daughter of James and Clara Wallace with her being the eleventh child of twelve; with 9 brothers and 2 sisters. She grew up on a farm in Taylorsville, Utah and graduated from BYU High. Betty continued her life journey as a full-time mother and worked as a Sales Manager at Stanley Home Products for over 30 years and loved her job and the people she worked with daily.

On August 15, 1979, she was married to the love of her life, Rodney M. Sudweeks, in the Salt Lake Temple. With love for the outdoors, Betty spent a great deal of time camping and traveling with Rodney and especially enjoyed visiting the Oregon coast; it was never the same once Rodney passed.

She enjoyed reading books, working on puzzles, watching BYU Sports, visiting with neighbors, and working endless hours on her genealogy. She was passionate about spending time in her yard and tending to her flowers, and garden; but most of her enjoyment came from having her family join her for family reunions, weekends, and holidays.

Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions within the church but talked passionately about her position of being Ward and Stake Librarian.

In addition to her husband Rodney Sudweeks, she was preceded in death by her parents; all 11 of her siblings; her beloved daughter and two grandsons.

Betty is survived by her children, Mike Stice, Carol (Rod) Sommer, James (Tammie) Forschen, Jae Forschen, Penny (Mick) Jones, Suzanne (Keith) Wilkinson, Debie (Tim) Fishnick and Jim (Ruth) Hunsaker; 47 grandchildren, including special grandchildren: Matt (Shay) Hunsaker, Nicolas (Brandi) Hunsaker, and Dana Stinson; and special great-grandchildren: Acen & Hayden Hunsaker who have lived beside their grandmother their entire lives; 59 great-grandchildren; 7  great-great-grandchildren.

Grandma we love you and your presence will be greatly missed! We will honor your legacy of family first and overjoyed that you have now joined your other loved ones on the other side.
