Donna Agnes Best Page

Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Donna Page passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday morning, December 6, 2018 at the age of 91 after 2 years of declining mental and physical health. Donna was born July 24, 1927 to F. Mansel Best and Vera Saville Best in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the 2nd of 5 children.

Donna married Howard A. Page of Bountiful, Utah, on August 28, 1947. They had 4 sons. She was wife, mother, and homemaker for most of the years her sons were growing up. Later, she started doing bookkeeping for her husband’s pharmacy for a few years. Then she started working at LDS Hospital doing medical records. She did that for enough years to retire and then went back to the same job part time. After completely retiring, she spent many years volunteering at LDS Hospital and then IMC Hospital. She finished volunteering in the fall of 2016 when her health would not permit further time there. Donna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various positions over the years, but the one she seemed to enjoy the most was that of librarian.

Her sons remember going camping at least once every year with their parents. This instilled in most of us a love of camping that remains today. As the grandchildren came along, Howard and Donna involved them in many camping and outdoor activities as well, first in a pop-up trailer, then a travel trailer, and then a 5th wheel trailer. In Donna’s 50s, she and her husband got involved in square dancing. They took great pleasure in going out at least once a week. Also, going all over the western U.S. for dancing get-togethers and conventions. In June of 1991, when the national convention came to Salt Lake City, Donna and Howard were in charge of the “Tip at the Top” tour at Snowbird, which introduced many from out of state to our mountains. After Howard’s death, Donna joined with some like minded friends and did some traveling all over the world.

Donna is survived by two brothers, Lavar Best and Myron Best (Vivian); 3 sons: Steven Page (Nadine), Mark Page (Jena), and Darrell Page (Anne); 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; one brother; one sister (still born); her husband; one son; one daughter-in-law; and one great-grandchild.

A viewing will be held Saturday, December 15th, from 10am to 11:45am at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville. Interment, Elysian Gardens, Millcreek, Utah.
