Doral W. Bellon

Doral Bellon, our loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, 96, passed away December 9, 2018 in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born December 31, 1921 in Roosevelt, Utah to Francis Xavier and Eva Mae Bellon.

He spent his early life in the Uintah Basin. The family spent summers in the mountains herding their cattle. He cooked in his brother’s café in Roosevelt. He graduated from Roosevelt High School as student body president. He married Lynne Oberhansly from Hayden, Utah (later solemnized in the SLC Temple). Doral served in the Army during WWII in the Philippines. They moved to SLC where he graduated from Henegar’s Business College and worked as a head cost accountant for conglomerate dairy producers, Intermountain Milk, retiring at age 64. At the same time he served as president of their credit union, running it from home. Doral held many church positions over the years. He always worked hard at many things, including his home, yard and garden.

Doral is survived by two daughters: Judy Peters and Michele Bellon; grandson Dallas Maxwell; three brothers; and one sister; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lynne; three sisters; and eight half siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Meadow Heights Ward House, 4310 S. 3200 W., viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
