Doris Clayburn Holt Coulson

Born January 31, 1932 in Midway, Utah to Francis and Edith Maria Brown Clayburn. The 9th of 10 children. Died October 8, 2020 at home in Sandy, Utah.

Mom lived a life of love and respect from all she met. Accepting and welcoming of everyone she met including all the many friends of her children. They all knew that a hot meal, warm home, and comfort from the outside world was there if they needed. Working many jobs for minimal pay mom made sure we always had what we needed and was still present for programs, school meetings and sporting events in our lives. Never did we feel we were going without or looked down on. Mom taught us a strong work ethic which assured us success in our chosen fields and education. She taught us to always support each other, which formed a tight bond that no one could break, disputes always arise but no one can break us except ourselves. Such is family!

Survived by her children: Larry (Gaylene), Marsha, Peggy, Ray, Richard (Cindy), Nanette (Andrew) and Ron; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces; nephews; honorary children; and sister Jane Brinkerhoff, her sole surviving sibling.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Coulson; son Leo; her parents; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers; and their spouses.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, where a viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 15^th, from 6-8:00 p.m. A private family viewing will be held Friday prior to services. Interment to follow at Midway Cemetery, 1:00 p.m. in Midway, Utah. All COVID 19 protocols will be observed.
