James Jacob Knecht

The world lost a wonderful man March 16, 2020. James Jacob Knecht born on June 22, 1936, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and granddaughters.

Jim loved working in his garden and yard, watching the Utes, BYU & the Jazz, and loved to fish. He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved his family with all his heart and taught each and everyone of them to do the right thing.

He married the love of his life, Colleen Davis on June 19, 1959 and they had 60 beautiful years together. They have two children, David Swena and Karen Knecht Harris.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Colleen Davis Knecht; daughter Karen Harris (Bill); grandchildren Heidi (Nick), Sara, Tracy, and Steven; great-grandchildren Tabor, Lory, Ryan, Danni Lynne, Jocelyn, and Anastasia; sister Verla; brother Steve; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother; and sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale, Utah.
