On Sunday, April 25, 2021 heaven gained the most beautiful soul, our beloved Judy C. Mann. Her battle may have been lost to ovarian cancer; however, we take comfort and solace in knowing she is no longer suffering and was welcomed with open arms by those who have passed on. This includes Carl Mann, husband; Alta Orton, Granny Goose/mother; Joann Jones, sister; Donna Mae Johnson, aunt; Spencer Johnson, grandson; and many others. In the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family and friends at her daughter, Sharon’s home where she was under care for the last 9 months.
Judy was born October 7, 1941 in Panguitch, Utah to Don and Alta Bird Orton. She is the oldest of 6 siblings; Wally (Lynette) Orton, Denny (Jean) Orton, Kenny Orton, Barbara (Glenn) Leach, Joann Jones (deceased). She married Carl Mann April 9, 1960 and became a widow at the young age of 42. Judy worked for Boyles Brother Drilling/ Christensen Diamond for 25 years. She retired and later moved to St George, Utah.
Judy will always be remembered for her heart of gold and how her home was always open to anyone; she was selfless, forgiving and the biggest sweetheart to everyone! She enjoyed time with family and friends, especially playing BINGO with her daughter, brother Wally & Nettie, Kitty, Monique and many others. She also was ranked 2nd in the Women’s Bowling State Finals with an average score of 187.
Judy was always known for being clean and organized. She was also a wonderful baker, from her homemade fudge and bread to her amazing potato soup, you never left her house hungry! Judy was a big Utah Jazz fan and loved to watch the games with her grandson, Spencer Johnson before his passing. The biggest cheerleaders have been reunited and we know they will continue rooting for their team from above!
She is survived by children; Sharon Mann Sorensen (daughter), Michael Mann (son), Bryan Sorensen (son-in-law), grandchildren; Carl Chevy Mann (Chelsey), Levi Sorensen, Devan Mann, Shyanne Sorensen-Johnson. She also has a special place in her heart for her grand-fur babies Shasta, Zurg, Daisy and Rufus.
