Kimberly Kay Funk

October 9, 1968 — August 15, 2021

Our loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend Kimberly Kay Funk passed away August 15, 2021, in Draper, Utah. Born October 9, 1968, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Kimberly was raised by her father Jerry Lee Funk and stepmother Karen Edvalson (Funk) Williams, along with her mother Laurel Mae Stewart (Funk) Bevan and stepfather Lanny J Bevan.

She was called back to Heaven and reunited with her father Jerry, brother Rodney, Grandma Reva, nephew Cash, and others who left this earth.

She is survived by her loving dog Taffy who was an incredible companion; her mother Laurel Mae Stewart Funk Bevan; stepmother Karen Edvalson Funk Williams; stepfather Lanny J. Bevan; siblings Teresa Isakson Thompson (Carl), Jeanette Funk Kendall, Brett Funk, Tyler Funk (Kim), Cameron Funk (Michelle Spangler), Travis Bevan, Chris Bevan (Kara); many nieces; nephews; and great-nephews.

Kimberly loved her puzzles, crosswords, and word searches. When she was not doing those, she was listening to The Judds, Reba, Bellamy Brothers or playing with her poodle, Taffy. She was loving, kind, and generous. You would never see her without a smile, and she gave the greatest hugs. She truly was the epitome of kindness and love.

Even through the many surgeries, obstacles, and health problems she endured, she was still smiling. She would not want us to mourn but to embrace her journey and remember her for the beautiful, loving, and compassionate person we were blessed to spend time with—take her wisdom and learn so we can pass it on to others.

Kimberly was always grateful for her medical professionals and caregivers throughout her life. They played a valuable role in assisting with her medical and emotional needs. The caregivers she shared her life with, she viewed as her family and friends. She will forever have appreciation for those relations.

A viewing will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.  Interment, Ferron City Cemetery.
