LaVon Simon Linnell, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2020 with her family surrounding her. She was born February 18, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the sweetest mom and wife anybody could ever have. LaVon’s greatest blessing and happiness was her family. She was married to her sweetheart Ross Blaine Linnell in the Salt Lake Temple on February 20, 1956. They were married for 64 years and were blessed with four children.
She was an amazing woman, and everybody loved her. She always had a smile on her face. She was always a comfort to her family when they needed her. She served in leadership positions in Relief Society, Primary and many other callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved painting ceramics and was awarded many trophies and medals from State Fairs.
LaVon is survived by her husband Ross; and four children: Sherrie (Rod) Marshall, Scott (Alison) Linnell, Julie Brown and Mark (Jeff Allison) Linnell. She is also survived by her brother Frank (Nadine) Simon; and 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Myrtle Simon and her son-in-law Steven Brown.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A family graveside service will be held at Murray Cemetery.
