Lee Squire

September 22, 1927 — December 25, 2018

Lee Oliver Squire, age 91, passed away peacefully in his home in American Fork in the early morning of December 25th with his wife Bobbie at his side. Lee was born on September 22nd 1927 in Hunter, Utah to Oliver Rulon Squire and his wife Grace Rushton Squire; A hundred years from when the Book of Mormon plates were removed from the Hill Cuummorah.

He graduated from Cyprus High School, and received his bachelors degree as an Arizona Sun Devil, later receiving his Masters Degree at Brigham Young University. He served a Latter Day Saints Mission in Uruguay, - served in the Army during the Korean War. Later, when traveling in Memphis, Tennessee he met and married Miss Bobbie Nell Brown. Lee loved singing anywhere and everywhere, loved playing any kind of instrument that he could teach himself to play. He was an avid reader and encouraged his children to read to their children at bedtime the way he read to his own children. He was constantly improving his skills in Spanish and Italian and would read everything he came across in those languages, adding French to the mix in his later years. He did a series of exercises daily, clear through his 91st birthday. Lee taught school in Vernal, Utah, Guam, Lehi High School, Pleasant Grove, Utah, and taught summer classes at Brigham Young University. Lee and Bobbie raised their children to be hardworking, caring, and physically active kids, going on adventurous camping trips every summer.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and his beloved 2 year old daughter Lisa Michelle, whom he had always said was an angel - too perfect for this world. He is survived by his wife and companion, Bobbie Nell Brown Squire; brothers Jack Squire and Don Squire; sister Yvonne Roe; two daughters, Shauna Daniels ( Craig) and Marla Fox (Dennis); and 4 sons, Brian Squire ( Jeanette), Russel Squire, Stuart Squire (Kim) and David Squire; plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren

There will be a viewing on Saturday, January 5th from 10-10:45 a.m., at the LDS Church house, 507 West 700 North, American Fork, UT, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. Interment, American Fork Cemetery.
