Louisa Maud Beckstead Holt

Louisa Maud Beckstead Holt returned home to her Heavenly Father May 18, 2019. Born on December 8, 1925 to Henry Alton and Cecil Twitchell Beckstead in Delta, Utah. Married Alvin P. Holt, marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She graduated from Delta High School and attended Salt Lake Community College. In 1951 she was called to serve as a full-time proselytizing missionary for eighteen months, but she served twenty months in the East Central States Mission and served as a supervisor over the ladies of the mission for the last 7 months. She was employed by Salt Lake Delta-Kanab Freight Line, Palmer Brothers Freight Line and Merchant Shippers as bookkeeper and office manager. Served as a counselor and President of M.I.A. Taught Jr. Sunday School, Gospel Doctrine class, Relief Society and served as Chorister and Choir Director. Served as Granger West Stake Family History Technical Services Coordinator. Was a member of the ladies chorus “Symphony Singers” and served as president one year. Member of D.U.P. She helped many people with family history for many years.

Survived by daughter, Jennifer Wilson, four granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters.

Preceded in death by husband; sisters Irene Shafter and Adeline Petty; and brothers Rex, Jesse, Melvin, and Ned Beckstead.

Family and friends may attend a viewing Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 10-10:45 a.m., at Granger West 7th Ward building located at 4460 West Cortney Drive (2800 South), West Valley City, Utah, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, Utah.
