Phyllis Irene Liner, age 96, set off on her final and most spectacular road trip into the heavens on Friday, January 1, 2021 at, St Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on October 27, 1924 in San Diego, California to Frank and Irene Reynolds and was the older sister to Robert Reynolds of Prescott, Arizona. The daughter of a Texas Ranger, Phyllis had a natural love for adventure and road trips, with some of her fondest memories found behind the wheel of her blue Chevrolet convertible. She chronicled these adventures in journals and on scraps of paper, finding a passion for non-fiction writing and storytelling which carried over into her love of genealogy. Phyllis traced the lines of her own family back to their origin and did the same for many others.
As a practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Phyllis served a Mission for many years at The Family History Library where she was able to help many people discover their own family history and lineage.
Phyllis is now back in the arms of her husband and true love, Sam Liner. Sam and
Phyllis had been married for over 50 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Robert Reynolds.
She is survived by her two sons, Dana Christian and Jay Liner; her daughter-in-law Susan Christian; and grandchildren Fletcher, Stasha, and Lauren Christian and Shane, Travis (Rhiannon) Touchette and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services were held January 11, 2021. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
