Rachel Marinda Knight Spor

Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2018. Rachel was born on January 24, 1928 in Hinckley, Utah to her loving parents Samuel Lee and Martha Stephenson Knight. She married Lawrence Dean Spor in the Salt Lake Temple on August 12, 1946, later divorced.

Rachel was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served in many callings in primary, Sunday School, Relief Society and as a temple worker. She was a hard worker both in the home and out of the home. She worked and retired from Litton Industries with more than 30 years of service. She loved to square dance, work in the yard, traveling with her sister Esther, spending time with her grandchildren and family and she was devoted to her many fur babies. She was a friend to all and will be missed by many, but she was joyfully reunited with family and friends when she returned home.

She is survived by her children who will miss her every day, Dean (Ann) Spor, Pat Bowman, Tony (Karen) Spor, Sandie Spor and Mike (Linnie) Spor; 17 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; her brother Chester (Arlene) Knight; and brother in law Tex Searle. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Milton and Newel; sisters Ina, Hazel and Esther; and great-grandson Michael Roy Spor III.

Funeral services will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at noon, with a viewing from 11:00-11:45 am prior to the services. Interment at Valley View Memorial in West Valley City, Utah.
