Seanta Marie Mafoa

Seanta Marie Mafoa passed away on November 24, 2020 after a short but very courageous battle with uterine cancer. Born September 28, 1985, the daughter of Jim Ash and Char Woodward.

Seanta was a generous, outgoing, loving person who was funny and loved to pull a good prank.  She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul.

Seanta loved family game nights, camping, going to Wendover, her job at R1 and having her eyelashes done by Brenda.  She loved fall, the University of Utah Utes, Dallas Cowboys and the holidays, especially Thanksgiving.  She made every holiday so special for her family.

She had a genuine love for everyone. The relationships she shared with each of her cousins was very special and unique, she was and will continue to be their biggest cheerleader. But the love Seanta had for her niece Jaydelynn and her nephew Jaxx was incredible, she loved them more than they may ever know.

Most of all she LOVED and ADORED her husband, Pita, and her daughter, Journee, they were her world.  She treasured and embraced every moment she had with them. If you were lucky enough to be present when Seanta gazed into Journee's face, you witnessed nothing less than pure joy radiating from her. She loved them both immensely. 

She is preceded in death by her sister Jerica Ash; her aunt Kelli Pyne; sister in law Megann Mafoa; and her Gramps (Gary Thompson).

She is survived by her husband,  Pita Mafoa; daughter, Journee; mother, Char Woodward (Dennis); father, Jim Ash (Tanna); siblings, Keeli (Casey) Espinoza, Michael Maestas and Landry (Samantha) Maestas; grandmother, Gayle Thompson; and many amazing nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

When you think of Seanta, celebrate the good memories you have shared with her. Embrace every opportunity to create a new memory with those you love.

A celebration of Seanta's life will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020, Rockledge at Quarry Bend Apartments, (in the clubhouse) 903 East Cobblegate Drive (9000 South), Sandy UT from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.

There will be a viewing at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. All are welcome but please wear a mask!  

Funeral services will be Monday, November 30, at 11:00 am at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.  Services will be livestreamed at:
