Sherry Schaffer Hulse

August 23, 1933 — March 25, 2019

Sherry Schaffer Hulse joyfully passed from this life into the arms of her sweetheart and the presence of her Savior on March 25, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Sherry was born in Tremonton, Utah on August 23, 1933 to Maitland James Schaffer and Hazel Stocks. She spent her early years in Tremonton loving her sisters Gay, Gloria and Connie, her horse and dog. She later moved to Bountiful where she spent time in the loving home of her grandparents. She was given two more sisters Ruth and Laurie, whom she also loved dearly.

Sherry met the love of her life, Charles Edward (Ted) Hulse while attending Davis High. They were married in Las Vegas on January 21, 1951. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 29, 1951.

Sherry was blessed with many talents. She was a witty writer, artist, talented cook and had a beautiful soprano voice. She loved to sing with her husband and children. She loved the Utah Jazz and cheered them on in every game. She loved to teach in the schools as a substitute. She was known as the ‘Bug Lady’

She served her Savior in many capacities in His church. She loved serving with her sweetheart on a CES mission and as a temple worker. She was serving a Family History Church Service mission at the time of her death. Her favorite callings were wife, mother and grandmother. She tried to make everyone feel like they were her favorite person.

Sherry leaves behind her beloved children Chuck (Shawna) Hulse, Steve (Wendy) Hulse, Rebecca (Steve) Johnson, Debi (Rob)Martin, Jay Hulse and W. Brian (Kristen) Hulse; 25 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Ted Hulse; parents; sister Gay Angulo; and two stillborn grandchildren.

Services to celebrate her life will be held Friday March 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 South Main, Bountiful, Utah. A short viewing will be held that morning from 9:45-10:45.

The family thanks Inspiration Hospice and Visiting Angel, Liana for their care and support. We also thank her cousin Marla Mason and sister Laurie Zenteno for their love and attention to our angel mother.
