Sue passed on Thursday, May 27, 2021 on a beautiful, warm Spring day after being surrounded by loved ones. This was one of the things she yearned for most during the pandemic.
Sue was born to Floyd Leroy Thorpe and Velma Zora Harsh Thorpe on Tuesday, January 8, 1935 in Spokane, Washington. Sue was the mother of three children, Debra (Debbie) Sue Wood, Charles (Chuck) Eugene Wood, and Loren Michael Wood (deceased). Sue has 5 granddaughters whom she loved dearly and was very proud of.
Sue was known for her silliness and sometimes shocking comments. All who knew her were sure to have a good laugh whenever she was around. She loved Elvis and Luau music could always get her moving. She was not shy to say what was on her mind or do what she wanted. We can all learn something from her.
During her last years, she found joy in waking early to open the door for the caretakers starting their day off with a smile. She loved socializing and playing games. Her favorite snacks were Coca Cola, potato chips, and Tootsie Pops. She asked for them regularly and whoever gave them to her, was sure to be her bestie of the hour.
Preceded in death by her son Loren Michael Wood; parents Floyd Leroy Thorpe and Velma Zora Harsh Thorpe.
The family wishes to express our gratitude for the kind and tender care she received at Highland Care Center and her Hospice Nurse, Val. We would also like to thank McDougal Funeral Home for simplifying the process, allowing more time to mourn our loved one.
