About Us

When R. David McDougal was eight years old, he lost his beloved grandmother. During her services, he was so impressed by the gentle show of compassion and dignity rendered by the funeral home staff that he determined he would pursue the same occupation when he grew up.

In 1950, R. David McDougal opened the McDougal Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Utah. Since its early beginnings, it has become one of the major funeral homes in the Salt Lake Valley. R. David McDougal built the reputation of his funeral home on trust, service, and compassion. The family continues to own and operate to maintain and protect this reputation. Our service to families in our community is second to none. We care for those who are experiencing the change in life from the loss of a loved one.
